The Hon. PAUL GREEN: My question is directed to the Minister for Police and Emergency Services. Will the Minister update the House on the new Riverstone police station? Have the funding issues there been resolved?
The Hon. MICHAEL GALLACHER: I have had further meetings since we last discussed the issue at Riverstone and there is dialogue. I have requested that Police Properties meet with the Riverstone police, currently in Quakers Hill, to discuss concerns that have arisen recently following airing of the Riverstone police station issue. I think it prudent that I allow Police Properties an opportunity to meet with the police at Quakers Hill, which will become a Riverstone area, to discuss those problems before they are publicly known. In fairness to them, I have asked police there to get a firsthand understanding of the difficulties as well as the time line. I will obtain a suitable answer for the member and take the opportunity to discuss that with him.
