The Hon. PAUL GREEN: My question without notice is directed to the Minister for Police and Emergency Services. Given that in the last 18 months six nurses have been stabbed, two of them fatally, in the last 18 months how many incidents of violence towards nurses required police to attend workplaces and how many notifications of violence against nurses did police receive that did not require their attendance at the scene?
The Hon. MICHAEL GALLACHER: I thank the honourable member for his question and his ongoing interest in health-related issues in New South Wales. The member has asked another good question. I will seek advice from the NSW Police Force and report back to the member in time. I am not sure whether the police computer system records instances and events by occupation. I am not aware of exactly how they are recorded, but I will seek an answer from the NSW Police Force. Again, I thank the Hon. Paul Green for his ongoing interest in health matters.
